medicine ball 2006

8 10 2006

well it’s been two days since I attended the Medicine Ball.

honestly, it was not as fantastic as I would hope that it would have been. maybe it was my reluctance to go to the after party for fear of having a very bad migraine again, as well as severe dry cleaning bills, but also because of the food. it took hours for them to serve the food, especially between dishes. and by the time it reached the last table, which was where I was seated, the food was. cold. you know how you’re not suppose to microwave up beef you just cooked to perfection just to “heat it up”? yup. imagine eating beef with that sort of texture and that dryness.

I guess the notion of me accompanying the girlfriend was nice, till she scooted off to take photos with her friends. I don’t blame her for doing that though, for I would have probably done the same as well. but apart from that, I suppose the crowd was a nice mix of alcoholics and drunks, with the occasional person attempting to nudge into my back unsuspectingly and/or step on my shoe unintentionally. but apart from that, all was good. and I must say, I think we looked good too. the girlfriend and myself…

most of our mutual friends attended the ball too. I mean, like duh… seeing how a large percentage of them are medical students.

Xin Yi and myself Miss Ho down here celebrated her birthday the day before. thank you for telling me to not look so lonely, but can’t really help it when I did feel a bit lonely.

John vs Rong Yao I swear John would have been a fitting compliment to what Rong Yao wore for MMN last year in 2005.

myself and Ker Fern me and Ker Fern over here, who according to Jasmine, smiled in my photo but not hers. oh well. I bring out the best in people?

Jeffery and myselfJeffery and myself…

Melanie, Ling Ling, and myselfI don’t think I told Ling this but I quite liked her dress. reminds me of this 80s party I had to attend a while back. mightily nice *although abnormally big* polka dots. and Melanie looked delish (=

Patricia and myselfPatricia and myself. hmm. I thought she looked a bit drunk, but I guess not.

myself and Damienmyself and Damien, a 2nd year medical student whom I got to know last year at Jiarong’s house.

let me re-state the fact that they are all medical students, no I will not introduce any one of them to you for potential dates/matchmaking services, and that I am not a medical student but a psychology student. and no, I did not feel intimidated by them, for I was armed with the great skill that was imparted to me by Alex, the “I know your insecurities” skill. needs poise, elegance, plus the look of seriousness on your face to suggest the enormity behind it.

if you ask me, I wouldn’t mind going for another ball in which I have no relation and/or idea about, simply because of the few people *and especially the date, I feel* for making the whole affair one of the better nights to remember.

Ah, I see all that “fake smile” practice finally paid off.. your smile is exactly the same in every single fookin’ photo.

And please, potential dates? Med students? I’d sooner date my dog’s anus’ crusty fecal matter.
